How to Become an Admin in Palworld

Becoming an admin on your Palworld dedicated server allows you to use special commands to manage the server and its players. The process involves setting a password in your server's configuration files and then using that password in-game.

Step 1: Set the Admin Password

First, you need to access your server's files and edit the configuration.

  1. Stop Your Server: Before editing any files, ensure your Palworld server is not running.
  2. Locate PalWorldSettings.ini: Navigate to your server's configuration directory. The file path is typically: Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini.
  3. Edit the File: Open PalWorldSettings.ini with a text editor. You will see a list of server options.
  4. Find and Set AdminPassword: Look for the line AdminPassword="". If it's not there, you may need to copy it from the DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini file and add it.
  5. Enter Your Password: Type a secure password inside the quotation marks. For example: AdminPassword="YourSecurePassword123".
  6. Save and Restart: Save the changes to the file and restart your Palworld server.

Step 2: Use the Admin Command In-Game

Once the server is running with the new password, you can claim your admin status.

  1. Connect to Your Server: Launch Palworld and join your server.
  2. Open Chat: Once in the game, open the chat box (press Enter by default).
  3. Enter the Command: Type the following command, replacing <password> with the one you set in the .ini file: /AdminPassword <password>
  4. For example: /AdminPassword YourSecurePassword123.
  5. Confirmation: If the password is correct, the game will display a message confirming that you now have admin privileges (e.g., "You are now an admin."). You can now use admin commands like /kick and /ban.
